Just like last year our house was packed with P's... people and presents. Although, we were missing one special P this year... Pappap. Alyssa asked several times about Great Pappap, and also where her Santa PJ's were. I'm so sad for her... but with how much she talks about him, and with all the pictures we have up around the house of him, I have no doubt she will retain her memories of the time she shared with him.
This year we did things a little different. Instead of piling everything into the living room... and giving me a panic attack... we decided to put gifts in the dining room and bring them in in sections. This worked out sooo much better!! It was really nice opening one person's gifts at a time and actually getting to see people's reactions to what you had bought them. I think it was much less overwhelming for the kiddos too... there was much more time spent actually looking at, or playing with a toy. Alyssa, in true Alyssa form, wanted to immediately wear, and or play with just about everything she opened. Love that kid!
I think it is safe to say that everyone, including the adults, was thoroughly spoiled.
We managed to finish opening around 3 this year... which was way better than the 8 pm from last year. We ended our evening with a ham dinner... and the ceremonial cursing of toy manufacturers and their packaging of toys.
