Expressions

My little boy has started to love watching movies... he is very much like his father in so many ways... and this is definitely one of them. He likes to go down in the basement with Aaron and pick out one of his kids movies and snuggle up on the couch with his lovie, a blanket, his juice, and occasionally some popcorn. Yesterday afternoon after a very nice nap, he asked me if he could watch some of the "train movie." Of course I couldn't resist that cute little smile and voice of his, so I put it in for him to watch. He loves the Polar Express, and I love watching him watch it. He gets so excited about trains, and of course this movie is mostly held on a train... and even better... there's Santa involved! While he watched the intro. to the movie I laid down on the couch opposite of him and just started snapping away... the light isn't great, and the pictures are a little noisy... but I just love this series of him. His little expressions are so honest and true, and it reminds me of how everything that he's experiencing right now in life is so new and real and fresh for him. As the new year approaches, these pictures help remind me of how I need to slow down, relax, and enjoy watching my toddler grow into a little boy.

Apprehensive... he knows the train scene is coming up soon

Scared... as he listens to the train barrel down the tracks and stop at the little boys house

Brave... peeking out to see the little boy talk to the conductor

Anxious... waiting to see if the little boy gets on the train

Excitement... the boy finally got on the train to see Santa!

Wonder... at the magic that is The Polar Express
