Decorating.... again

Last evening Aaron and I were going to decorate the tree after Will went to bed. But at the last minute I decided that we should at least try and let him be a part of it just to see what he did. I'm so glad we let him participate, because he had a blast! I unloaded the ornaments on the kitchen table, and he would run back and forth from the tree to the table to grab a new ornament to hang (all he really did was lay them on a branch, but he tried). He didn't want help from either of us, and at one point walked around to the back of the tree so we'd leave him alone to hang ornaments how he wanted to hang them. In the end, we decided that since he did so well (much better than I was expecting), that we would decorate the top half of the tree and see how he did with leaving the ornaments alone. This morning when he woke up, he ran over to the tree and pointed at all the different ornaments, but didn't try to grab any of them off... so we might be home free this year and not have to gate the tree area... which I'm very excited about because who wants a big gate around their tree!! This holiday season has been so much fun so far with him being excited about decorations and lights, and being able to say santa. I can't wait till Christmas morning when he wakes up and finds all his presents under the tree!!

My big boy decorating the tree all by himself... he was very concerned with his ornament placement, and chose a special spot for each one he hung up

Our finished tree

Here are just a few of the special ornaments we have that we hung this year... I love holding Will up to the tree and telling him stories about each ornament and about what we were doing the year we received the ornament.
