The incident

Last night, while all the major roads were being closed and the snow had reached blizzard like conditions... our little man had his first major injury.  He was about to run into our dining room and somehow misjudged the space and instead ran headfirst into the corner of the wall instead.  I saw the whole thing happen and felt totally helpless knowing that there was no way I could get him to stop him from hitting the wall.  His poor little head swelled up so fast that he had almost a golf ball size bump in a matter of seconds.  We were lucky and the doctor on call at our peds center got back to us in about 5 minutes time to go over instructions of what we should do with him.  Thankfully he was ok and we didn't have to attempt to get him to the ER.  By the morning his bump was down a lot, and all that was really left was the cut on his forehead.  Poor little guy  :(  He definitely scared his Mama half to death last night... hoping this kind of thing never ever happens again!
