I will start with some basics... he was 29 lbs. the last time he went to the doctor, and was 35 inches tall. Still a peanut, but catching up. Both of those stats are in the 30th percentile for his age.
His personality is developing each and every day, and we love hearing what he's going to say next. He speaks in full sentences now, and can carry on conversations with strangers now and they understand him. He finds it fascinating that Aaron and I have "real" names other than Mommy and Daddy and will sometimes call us by our first names and then crack up laughing. When I don't answer his Mommy calls from the crib, he tries yelling Angie instead to see if I'll respond to that. He'll also do impressions of Aaron and I when asked... it remind me to be careful what I do and say in front of him because he's watching every little thing :) He says please and thank you most times without prompting now, which is something Aaron is very proud of since he's been working with him on that since he could speak. He's starting to follow directions more and more (although we do have our bad days), and is even listening to the rule of "don't take ornaments off of the tree." He's very social and loves to be around his friends and family, and is quite the little ham when we're out in public. He's affectionate... and often asks if he can give a child who's crying in Target a hug so they feel better. It seriously warms my heart when he says things like that :)
He loves music... and has many preferences as to what he listens too. There are times I have to go through multiple songs on a CD before I find one that he likes. He sings along to the music as well, and I swear there is nothing more adorable than listening to your 2 year old sing Christmas carols in the back seat of the car while using his lovie as a make believe guitar. He loves to watch movies with his Daddy and we have started a once a week "family movie night" where we watch about 30 minutes of a movie and eat popcorn and drink hot chocolate together on the couch downstairs.
Will loves to go places, and he greets me each morning with a smile, a hug, and a "Mommy, where we going today??". I'm glad he likes to get out of the house, because we are on the go all the time! He loves loves loves going to school on Tuesdays and can't wait to get in the door to see his teachers. He will be attending preschool three mornings next fall (although we're not sure where yet), and I know he's going to just love it! He still enjoys swimming and will hopefully be swimming with just a back float by the time summer comes around.
We are still struggling with food for this little guy. He loves eating the same things over and over again, which is normal for this age. Thankfully they are healthy things he's eating so it's not that big of a deal. And I guess who cares if he's getting his veggies from V8 instead of the actual veggies?? Although, he did discover that he likes guacamole the other night so he's had guacamole 3 nights in a row, made with fresh avocados.
Potty training is still ify... he goes on the potty when he wants too. We're going to give it another month or so until we kick it into high gear and really start forcing the issue with him. He's ready, and I'm ready, so I think he'll do good :) A big boy bed is just around the corner as well, and we're considering having Santa bring it to him for Christmas. He has decided that he'd like a Cars bed, and that he would like me to have a sister for him so he can share his crib with her. Mmmmm, sorry little man, not quite yet on the sister thing, but it's a very nice gesture sharing your crib. We've started talking about how he needs to stay in his bed to sleep, and that he can't get out to play. I forsee some challenging times with the transition, but I think ultimately he'll do very well with it.
I know there are so many more things to share about him, but I will save them for a later post. I need to start remembering to write more things down that he says, or things that he does that are funny. He's growing and changing so fast :(
I'll leave you with some crazy pictures of Will that were taken last week... who says you can't sword fight in your Robin costume in December while wearing your Mama's shoes? Or run down the hall naked to fight the big bag of trash just emptied instead of getting into the bath tub like you were asked to do. Oh life with a toddler... I seriously wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!!!
