Visit to the Capital Builidng in DC

What a cool trip this was! We got up super early to ride the train into DC with some of our scouting friends. One of our parents is a capital police officer and he offered our scout group a behind the scenes tour of the capital building. Will had a rough train ride there... early mornings are hard and when you add in not having meds, it was rough. The kids had a great time checking everything out and learning about all the history of the building. We even got to go see the Senate... which is something the normal tour does not cover. There were several more things we could have done, but the kids were fading fast so we all decided to have an early lunch instead. After lunch Jana and I decided to take the metro home and have her husband pick us up at the station instead of staying in DC till late afternoon. I'm so glad we did because I don't think Will would have made it on another train ride... especially one that would have taken 1.5 hours.
