I'm so happy we were able to meet up with Gina and the kids one day this summer to go visit the Leesburg animal park. We quickly found out that the highlight of the park was the giant indoor climbing station... and not the small amount of animals located outside. We did get to feed the fish in the Koi pond... which I do have to say was quit the experience. Those things were literally rolling on top of each other trying to get to the food... some were even out of the water on top of other fish! And by the size of them... none of them needed food :) We also took a little hayride to visit/feed the animals. The happiness on that ride ended quickly when Alyssa was bit (and I use that term loosely) by one of the animals. She did not feed the donkey with her hand open like she was told and he ended up catching a little of her skin... she didn't even bleed... but you would have thought from the screaming that he ate her entire arm off. I think Gina and I agreed that we would choose another location to meet next time... but so happy we got to spend the day with them :)
I am a former Elementary school teacher turned stay at home mom. I have an almost 8 year old son and 3 year old daughter who somehow manage to keep me busier than my class of 25 third graders ever did. I love reading, writing, and after purchasing my first Nikon SLR three years ago... have fallen in love with photography and now have a small photography business called Lollihop Photography. This blog is mainly about my little ones... but I occasionally get a word in here and there.
