Down on the farm

This afternoon our playgroup got together and headed over to the South Mountain Creamery to feed the baby cows and enjoy some fantastic homemade ice cream. We got there a little early so the kids got to walk around the barn area and pet the cows and check out the chickens. All the kids did so great with the cows, none of them were afraid and they were all very interested in petting the cows and having them lick their hands. After a little bit of hanging out, we were able to give the cows bottles of milk. The cows were too strong and the bottles to heavy for the kids to hold but most looked on with amazement at the cows drinking. Will was very interested in the cow we were feeding and tried to help hold the bottle. After the bottle feeding we all headed back over to the store and bought some ice cream for the little ones. I bought vanilla for Will and I and it turns out that they have the best vanilla ice cream I have ever tasted! Yay for homemade ice cream! I was going to take some home with us, but they had just made it and it wasn't solid enough to make it home in the car... so we settled for some milk in glass bottles instead. My goal this week is to get our home delivery set up so we can have fresh organic milk delivered to our house each and every week. But I still might have to take trips up there for the occasional ice cream cone of vanilla ice cream...
